Legal warranty of good working order

Quebec is strengthening the obligations of merchants and manufacturers toward consumers. Well-documented after-sales service becomes an asset.

What's changing for you

The Act to protect consumers from planned obsolescence and to promote the durability, repairability and maintenance of goods amends Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.

Among other things, it introduces a warranty of good working order for several categories of goods, including household appliances and electronics.

Your customers can claim it directly from you: you need to be able to receive, handle and document every request.
